Band Update 9/11

Band rehearsals have been great so far this week! I am looking forward to the rest of the year as we continue to work hard.

A couple of notes:

1. Beginning Band: We have made a lot of progress on our instruments and have learned 2-3 notes so far! We have started using the book Standard of Excellence Book 1. A few students have been borrowing copies of the book from me, but I highly recommend they have their own book to write down things they need to remember and so they can practice at home. 2. Please encourage your student to practice at home! Your student has joined a Google Classroom with band challenges that they can do to help them practice and also do some research about band, their music, etc. Beginning Band student can work on the first few notes we've learned and getting a consistent sound on their instrument. Intermediate Band can use their band book to review and also begin looking ahead at Christmas music (which we are starting tomorrow).
