GS Advanced Band Update - 9/24

Hello Advanced Band Families!

We've been working on pep band music the last few rehearsals and are having a great time! We are playing instruments about 90% of the time in rehearsal and having a blast.

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow's rehearsal is woodwinds only. If your student plays trumpet or percussion, enjoy the later start! We will be breaking down our Christmas music in these sectionals to make it easier to put together as a full band.

Since we are about a month in, it's also time for trumpet players to give their trumpet a bath. They should wash out their trumpet with lukewarm soapy water once a month to keep it clean for their health and for the trumpet to work properly. Please help them with the cleaning process, there are lots of small pieces when taking apart a trumpet. Keep encouraging your student to practice at home! We have a lot of music to practice and a lot to remember, and daily practice (even if it's only 5 minutes) can help with retaining progress.
