I am very excited to spend another year teaching art to the students of Good Shepherd! I enjoy teaching all levels of students from the very energetic first graders who are so excited about each and every project, to the eighth graders, who are open to more challenging art lessons and mediums! My husband and I have two boys, both in college this year, and two dogs, all of which keep us very busy! In my spare time, I enjoy walking, watching movies with my family, and reading. We are members of the parish of St. Pius X, in Mission, Kansas. I graduated from Emporia State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Secondary Art Education. Upon graduating, I began teaching art at Warrensburg Middle School in Warrensburg, Missouri. I taught in Warrensburg for four years and then moved to the Kansas City area when I married Sean. Being a native Kansan, it was nice to return to the Sunflower State! After staying home with our two sons for a few years, I went back to work as a substitute teacher at Bishop Miege High School and worked there until I became the art teacher at Good Shepherd. It was there, too, that I realized the importance of catholic education and how special it is. I feel very blessed and consider it a privilege to teach your children art at Good Shepherd. When people ask me what I do for a living, I always tell them that I have the best job in the world! And now you know the rest of the story!
