Meet the Fifth Grade Team: Cindi Eaton and Renée Hance
Cindi Eaton is so glad to be joining the Good Shepherd fifth grade team this year. This is her third year teaching fifth grade.
Cindi lives in Gardner with her husband of 26 years. They have four kids and one grandson. Her son lives with his family in Olathe. Her older daughter, who is 22, is getting ready to move into her own place. Cindi is sad to see her go but so proud of all she has accomplished. Cindi also has twin 7th grade girls.
In her spare time, Cindi loves to do anything crafty, whether it be: drawing, painting, scrapbooking or diamond art. She loves getting the chance to be creative and sharing her love of craftiness with others.
Jesus is a big part of Cindi's life, and she enjoys sharing his message of love to those around her. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Renée Hance became a fifth grade teacher at Good Shepherd in January 2000. She received undergraduate degrees in Elementary Education and Spanish from Washburn University. The PTO's tuition assistance program helped Renée as she earned her Master's degree in school administration from Baker University.
Renée enjoys being a staff member at Good Shepherd. She knows that the support of parents and other teachers helps make her job wonderful. She finds that she fits well into her fifth grade teaching position because she enjoys seeing her students develop their own personalities and appreciates their sense of humor.
Renée loves to travel! While in college, she studied in Spain. After college, she spent two summers teaching English in Hongzhou, China. In 2004, she traveled with Good Shepherd's delegation to visit our sister community of Buen Pastor, El Salvador. In 2024, Renée explored Italy for two weeks with her husband, daughter, and son. In 2025, Renée and her mother visited the Netherlands, Belgium, and France. During summer vacations, the Hance family enjoys visiting national parks, camping, canoeing, and trout fishing.
