Reminders:

GREAT WAYS TO HELP AT HOME!

• Practice typing for 15 min. a night. Go to abcya.com, 5th grade, and do Keyboard Invasion.             
   Another good keyboarding site is Will Rogers Mat Dance Typing 

• Practice multiplication/division facts 

• read out loud together

• build with legos or toss a ball around with each other

• play cards or board games

What We're Doing Now: 

Welcome to Third Grade! I am so excited to get to know each and every family!  We are going to have such a great year!

Math- We will start with addition and subtraction review and go deeper into regrouping, rounding and estimating.  Then we will tackle multiplication!
Science- We will study weather, life cycles and heredity and traits.
English- We start with sentences and nouns and verbs.
Social Studies-- We are starting our unit on urban, suburban and rural communities.
Reading: Each week, we will discuss a different genre, and this year, we are focusing on comprehension skills to help us in all subject areas.
Religion- We start with scripture stories and learn ways to show that our church is one, meaning all Catholics across the world share the same beliefs.

HERE IS OUR SCHEDULE. It is very helpful that appointments can be scheduled around our specials to avoid missing class time.
