I will be teaching Science, Technology, and STEM at Good Shepherd this year. Throughout the year, I'll be updating pictures of activities and events happening both in and out of the classroom, so please check back often.

Please make sure to review your child's Google Classroom page with them. Important announcements, copies of paperwork, study guides, and root word lists will be posted there. I also upload many of the assignment pages to Google Classroom in case someone forgets the paper at school.

Welcome to 7th grade Science. This year, we will cover biology, physics, and ecology. We will pick up where you left off in 6th grade with a continuation of Cells. This will lead us to a unit on  Genetics. Ecology, the Diversity of Living things, and Life over Time will be our second area of study.  We will then switch gears and move into Force and Motion for our final unit. We will have a dissection in the spring. This is a general introduction to dissection and should not be worried about. 

I will teach STEM this year to all K-8th Graders in our building. Each grade will have specific modules they will be teaching. we are finalizing the exact modules per grade. Check back in a couple of weeks for an update. 

In 8th grade, we go into great depth into our topics. We will focus on Biology and Chemistry. We will cover the Human body and all the systems. The students will then complete a project incorporating the Human body and give them a chance to practice public speaking. They will master one body system and explain it to their doctor's office. We will also cover Chemistry and the periodic table. We will cover acids and bases in the spring. At the end of the year, we will complete a dissection in class.
